The tomato squashes. The onion slips.
A dull knife makes you press harder, and pressing harder is when it slips. The good knife in your drawer is fine. Its edge is what wore down.
The magnet holds the angle, and the discs do the sharpening.
The angle is held for you, not guessed by hand.
No stone to learn, no pull-through slot to trust.
Done at your counter, with no drop-off and no wait.
How it sharpens
The block sets the angle. You roll the disc.
Lay the knife on the block.
Choose the angle on the block: 15, 18, 20 or 22 degrees. The magnet holds the knife there.
Roll a coarse disc along the edge.
A few passes on each side. The diamond disc does the sharpening.
Step up to the fine disc.
Work up through 600, then finish on the 1000 grit disc. Wipe the blade and it is ready.

Questions
Using it
Will it work on my knives?
On straight-edge kitchen knives with magnetic steel, yes: chef's, santoku and utility knives. It is not made for serrated blades or scissors. Built for full-size kitchen knives. Very small blades can sit low on any angle block.
Which angle do I use?
Start at 20 for most Western knives. Use 15 for thin Japanese-style blades. The block is also marked 18 and 22.
Can it ruin a good knife?
The magnet holds the knife at the angle, so you are not guiding it by hand. Any sharpener removes a little steel; this one removes it at a set angle.
How is it different from a pull-through sharpener?
A pull-through has the angle built into its slot. Here you choose from four angles on the block: 15, 18, 20 or 22.
Do I need to know how to use a whetstone?
No. On a whetstone you hold the angle by hand. Here the magnet holds it and you roll the disc along the edge.
Care, guarantee and shipping
How do I look after it?
Brush or wipe the discs clean after use and keep the block dry.
What does the guarantee cover?
If it arrives damaged or defective, email your order number and a photo within 30 days. We refund you in full or send a replacement, your choice.
How long does shipping take, and can I track it?
Shipping is free and tracked.
Does it work on ceramic or non-magnetic knives?
No. The block holds the knife by magnet, so the blade must be magnetic steel. Hold a fridge magnet to the blade: if it does not stick, this is not the tool for that knife.
What if it arrives damaged or defective?
If it arrives damaged or defective, email your order number and a photo within 30 days. We refund you in full or send a replacement, your choice.
Can I track my order?
Yes. A tracking link is emailed when it ships. Most orders arrive in about 8 to 12 days.
How will I know it worked?
Make the same cut before and after; a ripe tomato is the easy test. If it still squashes after you have worked through the grits, email us.
The knives you own are fine. They just need an edge.
Edgekeep puts it back at your counter.
